Board Members Needed
As you might be aware, a lot of our board members have players that are growing out of the age where you can play in our region. They have done their share over the years to give back to our great community and we are thankful for their help!
Is it your turn this year? It can be! We need your help. If we don't get enough support, this great program could be in jeopardy as soon as this fall. We will do everything we can to prevent that but more help is needed.
If you are interested, please drop us a note or join us for the next board meeting.
Coach Information
For the regular season during the fall, we strongly encourage all volunteer coaches to become AYSO-certified for the age group in which they coach. For example, if one is planning to coach a U10G team, he should have a "U10 Coach" certification from AYSO. If one would like to coach an all-star team at the Kit Carson All Star tournament at the end of the season (U10 and up), he/she is required to have the age-level certification, as the Kit Carson All Star tournament is considered a "concurrent secondary play competition." Read more about the coaching certification policy.
In addition to the above certification, all volunteers are required to submit an AYSO Volunteer form (every year) and complete the Safe Haven for Coaches class (only need to take this class once).
Training for Safe Haven, U06 Coach, U08 Coach, and U10 Coach are all available on line and take less than one hour each. Make sure you have your AYSO Volunteer ID and visit www.aysotraining.org . If you do not have your AYSO Volunteer ID, make sure you have completed and submitted your volunteer form for this year and Contact Us. We'll send your ID back to you via email.
Referee Information
We have great training available for referees as well. Some is available online and some taught in person. On the field you will be coached and mentored. This is a great opportunity to refresh your knowledge about the exciting game, no matter what your experience is!
We are a volunteer-driven organization. Over 300 children in our community enjoy playing Soccer - that only works if we have volunteers. There are numerous options available for you to help us out - from a small one-time engagement at an event to a board member position. It will a rewarding experience for you and a great way to give back to your community.
